Student attitude and interest survey drawing. Administered during my first day with my 2nd grade tutoring student.
Summative- Interims are helpful to guide whole group classroom insturction. Math interims have been an excellent indicator of what standards I can narrow my instruction on. Requires the opportunity for students to express their understanding through multiple measures over a longer span of time.
Formative- Necessary to check student understanding during a lesson or unit. Exit tickets, quizzes, and tests. Although formative assessment may feel impersonal to the student, whole group instruction may benefit.
Benchmarks- working towards specific learning expectations is a partnership between the teacher and student.
Feedback- Prompt and constructive feedback will help goal planning. A culmination of summative and formative assessments will aid in student growth and benchmark achievements.
